Iridescent UCCW Skin

So then after being inspired from my own concept, I decided to make real widgets out of it using UCCW. Now I never had the thought of making money with it, I didn't know if it'll be a success, but I decided to get dirty and here it is:

A free and a paid version are available. The above clock isn't there in the free one, it's in the paid version. The paid version also includes notification badges and a search bar that can be customized for colours, the color of the circle behind the mic.

The current statistics (Aug 28) are that the free version has clocked 3000 downloads and the paid one is 40 away from 500. I am happy with it and this is I think the best UCCW Skin I could ever make, also someone called it the best UCCW Skin ever. If it really is that, I expected a higher number. I want to find a way of promoting the app, I can't understand how some others who also make these skins have gone much higher than me... maybe because they started earlier.

People are still interested in Iridescent and not much in Vivid. Maybe because the recent update to UCCW has broken Vivid badly and I just found out that there really was a problem with hotspots in individual notification badges there and I have updated Vivid just an hour ago with the fixes. I feel Vivid also deserves to get the love that Iridescent has got but because it is paid, I feel this isn't happening.

                    

However, much more is to come. I only need to sit and think deep for a new design, and I'll do it. Currently I am working on an icon pack, hope that goes viral! Icon packs need more effort and are also complex than making UCCW Skins. This is my first time and I'll have to learn a lot.

Vivid UCCW Skin

I never stop working. When I am free, I keep making some random UCCW widgets or do something in Photoshop. Just random, nothing for publishing. I do it because while working randomly the mind is able to think even more, so out of some random, not-so-good widgets, comes out something like this:

Beautiful, right? I hope people like it. This time, I am not giving free version of this because having a free as well as paid version for a UCCW Skin doesn't feel good. Also, as free are for trying the developer's work, I have a couple of them for this purpose. And, there can't be a real difference between UCCW Skin's free and paid version, it becomes senseless. People stay happy with the free one and no one looks at the paid ones. Not all, there are people who bought my apps just to make me happy and support my work, and I love them all! But, currently, I am in an URGENT need of money. The great response for Iridescent UCCW has made me very happy, people are still buying it. Let's see if this one is also loved by them...

I love making these Nexus 4 mockups. It's difficult to make when you don't have a Nexus 4. I don't have it, but I still somehow make them, nothing is impossible for me. :D

• Vivid Clock 2 (4x3) - It has a battery circle around the analog clock
• Vivid Clock 3 (4x3) - It has a battery bar in place of the seperation between date and weather in the first two widgets and also the percentage text beside it

Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie Concept

It was a normal day that afternoon, I don't remember the exact date. I was staring at my Google+ stream and just then saw a Key Lime Pie concept that surfaced on one of the communities. Just then, I thought of making one of my own.

I opened Photoshop on my PC and made a new PSD with resolution of the Nexus 4 - 768x1280, it is a device that I love the most and I am wanting to have one, and yeah soon it will be mine. Okay, so I made that and then first decided what wallpaper it will have. I took the gradient tool and filled it with a gradient of light blue to pink. Then made a clock, an analog one and after that, saved it and closed straightaway. I shutdown the PC and stopped thinking about it.

That's the one that you see above. This was the rough idea that I had first made and later forgot it too. Even the PSD that you see above was not known to me again even after the final concept was ready as I had saved it in a location where I don't visit much on my PC. I found it more than a month later when I published my first Android app based on this concept.

So, after about an hour later, I again thought of doing it. I created another PSD with a green-orange gradient, then made the clock and then the search bar and just posted it on Google+.

Got some appreciation for that, till now, 13 +1's. I got happy and thought of doing something more. So I created the in-call phone UI and the call screen (with my own number :P) and this was again awesome! It got even more love from people many more +1's. 

Some people started asking me to give links to the UCCW files and I told them that this is just a photoshop-made concept design. To that, someone told me, it can be made real easily.
